Kings Bromley Marina.
A mixture of volunteers from various organisations including Lichfield IWA have been hard at work again, this time providing mooring rings between Brindley Bank aqueduct and the new Rugeley by-pass bridge on the Trent and Mersey Canal north of Rugeley.
20 moorings rings and associated brickwork have been installed.
A lot of work by volunteers has been going on over the last couple of years to tidy up the Brindley Bank area which used to be overgrown and strewn with rubbish, now the hedges and grass have been cut back and litter cleared. Recent work has also revealed the remains of an old coal wharf with tramway tracks, coal was brought in by narrowboat and then taken by tramway carts to fire the steam engine at a nearby pumping station.
Old rails revealed at Brindley Bank.
