HELP !

Sunday, 2nd December 2012.
Kings Bromley Marina.

We have a problem, when we try and upload pictures to the blog we get a message come up which says.

Whoops! You're out of space. You are currently using 100% of your 1 GB quota for photos. Upgrade storage

Photos are stored in your Picasa Web Albums account and are included in your 1 GB free quota for photos. Additional storage that you purchase is shared between several Google products and is in addition to your free quota. Learn more

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Monday Morning.  Thanks to all who commented and helped solve our problem, we've been blogging for well over 3 years for free so a small payment now is understandable.

Cheers  Ray and Jayne.

Hi Ray
I had the same problem in October. I couldn't get around it without deleting some of my photos from Picasa, which would have removed them from the blog as well. So I purchased extra storage.

It's the only way I could find. If you come across a cost-free option, let me know!
Cheers, Geoff

Yes, you've run out of storage space for photos. Blogger photos are actually uploaded to Picasa Web Albums, so you'll either need to delete some of the photos (although they'll then disappear from the blog), or buy more space. Unfortunately, Google's prices aren't that cheap any more. You may be able to find another free photo hosting site, and use that for your blog photos instead, but it won't be as straighforward as uploading through Blogger.

Hi 1Gb will hold about 1200 photos from a 3mp camera but will reduce to 260 for a 12mp camera. Do you reduce their size before uploading or take them straight off your camera.
I find that you don't need more than 300kb for a photo for good quality viewing on line.
I would guess that you have used up the 1Gb allowance that google allocate for photos.
Hope that helps.

Oh dear! Perhaps it's because you've been uploading photos at their original large size. You might have to go through your blog resizing the photos and deleting the originals from the Picasa location. That might free up some space. Failing that, you might have to set up another "continuation" blog and get another 1GB of storage. But I'm no expert - let's hope someone else comments...

Hi Ray
If you want to keep the same blog site you could have a hard copy printed of your blog for previous years at this website.
http://blog2print.sharedbook.com/blogworld/printmyblog/index.html?utm_source=SharedBook&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Button&utm_campaign=Dec3PM
This would then enable you to delete the relevent years and still have a hard copy on board for quick reference.
Until recently they have been giving 15 and 20% off.
I had our blog done a few weeks ago and they produce a great book. Doug on Nb Chance showed me the one they did last year and you can see the one they have done for this year on their current blog.
Hope this helps with your storage problem.
