Last week I said that I was warming to the new Canal and River Trust, however I'm back to cold again now after reading they intend to close down the little shop at the bottom of the Audlem lock flight on the Shropshire Union Canal. It's a handy little place with fresh produce, eggs and a lady with a smiling face.
As it was, September 2011.
I've just Emailed CaRT and pointed out that this place is actually useful to boaters.

Would you entirely trust a report which says the hut is wood, when it's clearly brick?
Hi. Adam. I've spoke to Danny the owner and it's all true, although he says CaRT have called him today and he thinks they are feeling the pressure coming from the boaters. I appreciate that NBW shoot from the hip and sometimes get things completly wrong but not this time.
