A Sunny Afternoon

As this is the first time we have ever blogged, we thought it would be a good idea to have a bit of a practice before we depart for our summer cruise.
Yesterday (30th May), we volunteered to assist in the moving of the historic working boat Nutfield and the butty Raymond
from Stoke Hammond where they had moored, during a fund raising event organised by the Milton Keynes Branch of the IWA

Nutfield & Raymond moored below the bottom of the Soulsbury Locks
.
The weather improved and I did what I do best, messing around with boats and Jayne did what she does best, sat in the sun and got on with her knitting!!!!
.
At around 4pm we packed up the display stands and Richard, Robin and myself headed off on the boats towards Stoke Hammond Lock, once through Hammond Lock I was allowed to steer the motor Nutfield with Robin steering the butty while Richard rang various pubs along the canal trying to organise an evening meal for himself and Robin, at Fenny Stratford I left the boats after working them through the lock as Jayne was waiting for me with the car in the pub carpark ready for our 80 mile trip back home. Richard and Robin then carried on to their chosen pub, and hopefully found a mooring close by and enjoyed their evening meal.
.
The next time we catch up with Nutfield and Raymond will be at theStoke Bruene Gala Weekend June 12th and 13th  where hopefully we will be there with our boat.
